So one of my subscribers got this Saab he wanted me to review. And luckily for us it wasn’t just a run of the mill 9-3 sedan. It was the 2006 9-3 Aero, which meant it got the 2.8V6 turbo, which put it miles ahead of the previous 2.0T that preceded it. It also had a manual transmission, something not often found in the USA.

So how did it feel in the #ELITIST’s car of choice in 2006? And more importantly? How did it drive? See below!

I’d love to know what your opinion on the Saab 9-3 is. Or on Saab in general now that the marque is no longer with us, and the #Enthusiast can take over!

A friend of mine in college had one. Loved it for about 3 months. Then it started to implode. Then he “fixed it” and then “tuned it” and within a year he sold it for half of what he paid for it because he ruined it so completely and utterly.

And at the end of the day, until he screwed the boost up to “oh god why” he wasn’t any quicker than my 1995 buick riviera with a smaller pulley and mild upgrades.

Only so much power you can put to the front wheels.

A guy at work is selling one of these. Having a hard time getting somebody to pay what he wants.

For a while I really wanted to get one of these, it just seems like so much fun all while being understated and not drawing too much attention to itself. My only thing is I’m not sure how these are in terms of reliability, but I would take a low mileage example if I found one.

Only so many miles you can get out of a saab.

Although I never owned one, I am very fond of Saabs. The sendoff that Jeremy and James gave it was difficult to watch.

This one looked great inside and didn’t feel like a car that had almost 100K on the clock. I was thoroughly impressed with it.

Makes me wonder what the mileage is, and what he wants for it.

They had a wonderful history. After driving this one I hope I’ll come across someone with a more vintage Saab that would allow me to drive it. Although... I might have just shot myself in the foot with that #Elitist comment I made... Hahaha!

How many miles were on that one?

True, but while the Abarth I reviewed exhibited some moderate torque steer the Saab felt a whole lot better when getting on the gas.
